Crosby Garret Viaduct
CROSBY GARRETT VIADUCT - 23rd March 2002
What the local inhabitants of this quiet, backwater hamlet must have thought when the Midland Railway told them they were going to build a viaduct above them can only be imagined. Today it is the most striking feature of the area. Built in 1871 it has 6 arches, is 55 feet high and 110 yards long.
