ARTEN GILL VIADUCT - 18th March 1989 Arten Gill Viaduct is the second tallest on the line and when viewed from a low angle is an extremely impressive structure. It was constructed from local dark grey limestone known as "Dent Marble". Built between 1871 and 1875 it has 11 arches, is 117 feet high and 220 yards long. |
