ARMATHWAITE SIGNAL BOX (disused) - 27th April 1998 The signal box is a Midland Railway type 2b design and was first brought into use in 1899 and still stands in its original position. Closed in 1983 it was restored in 1991 by the "Friends of the Settle & Carlisle Railway" and is painted in original Midland colours. |
