Cow Gill
COW GILL - 9th April 2003
This view looks north east with the River Dee running across the scene from right to left and the wonderfully named Monkey Beck running down the central ridge from top to bottom. Dentdale is to our left as is the village of Dent some two miles away with the hamlet of Cow Gill at the bottom where the narrow road bends across the river. The road that winds up the hill leads to Lea Yeat and Dent station, continuing on this road, known as the Coal Road, will take you to Garsdale Head. The white house on top of the hill is the former station master's abode.
